Well, you can’t expect an introduction to be in depth. But there is a very in depth one at Blender Cookie if you’re still looking.
Maybe comprehensive is the word I should have used. I was/am looking for detailed workflow videos about texture painting in blender, I’ll definitely check out the one at blender coockie, Thanks!
This tutorial is quite in depth being almost an hour long, it covers almost everything in the texture painting tool.
But the one on blender cookie is also very helpful and a bit shorter.

The noise wasn’t a problem for me. Heard a thousand times worse.
For reduce noise in AO bake, go to world in properties panel and increase the samples for gather . ;) Nice tutorial
