I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

      •  Concur absolutely! Blender isn't just for creating the most amazing graphics on the planet.... there's novices like myself who need to see good simple examples of what can be achieved. We look at amazingly detailed images that can blow your minds..... and turn around and walk away for another few months or years..... because we don't believe that we will attain that level of skill.... A forum that just showcases the very best is going to be a big turn-off to those who might otherwise someday surpass the current maestro's!

  1. Really nice attention to detail. I specifically like the reflection qualities in the metal parts as well as the details in the fixing pin's plastic coverings. Nice to look at, great!

  2. Very nice work, especially for novice! Keep going on and create more stuff!
The only problem I see in this image - it is tooooooooooo clean. Add some dust, scratches and light variation. And DOF is too high.

good luck getting those RGB colors also manufactured - I think two colors will be hard
they however also in the rendering pop out too much as RGB values.

I would tone the green and magenta down so they match better the others.

Good rendering - you missed the threading !

  4. Nice project.   The details of the grooves and edges are great to figure out.

Any suggestions might be to add just a faint texture to the ground and lessen the highlight/shine of the chord
....that and, make the /next/ scene use the cable, yet plug it into something other than a screen....say, the earth---so you can watch crop-circle tv.  0_o
