Holy crap this came at the perfect time, I have started studying animation with introducing character animation and animation mechanics. I am not a rigger so I have been searching for some ball rigs and here the are. I would love to watch the cgcookie, I have the money, I have the time but sadly I have a completely sucky internet connection even watching a five minute video can be an absolute chore for me.
thanks for the rigs, now to download and play.

If you pay for the CG Citizen membership you don't have to watch the tutorials online you can also download all source files including the video tutorial, the download may be slow on your end from what your saying, but at least you can watch them without interruption.
Maybe you know somebody with good connection that would let you use it to download the tutorials save you waiting ages on a slow connection.
Hope this helps.
I use a 3G device to connect so it can be choppy depending on how loaded a cell becomes you can go from 1000kbs to 20kbs in a heart beat. The ADSL here is actually wore trust me I would be on that if it were faster. The was talk from the telecoms here on how they were installing an undersea cable and our internet was going to be faster and cheaper either they have to finished that project or they were lying.
But if I can download to keep I will definately give this a spin, downloading I can make work but streaming would freaking kill me.
Thanks :)
Started using one of the balls for a class animation exercise this last week. Working well. Thanks.
Thank you Blender Cookie and Beorn Leonard! Looking forward to practicing animation with these.
