42 hand painted texture masks later and the exterior is finally done :)
Well, I do still need to adjust the landing gear by adding some pistons and things, but for now I'd say it's where I want it.
Why did I make this? It's going to be a part of a little vfx film I'm working on with Viktor Mukayev (vitos1k) who also designed this ship.
[and thanks to lsmft and his awesome pc for rendering this!]

Umm. That's awesome!
Really nice work :-)
I would pay good money for a tutorial!
the tutorial has been around for a while now:

Voaw! I especially like the exhaust pipe! ;-)
If it's not on BlendSwap, then it doesn't exist.
Really? And why is that?
Because it only shows us a model, so it's an analogy to "pictures or it didn't happened" when someone tells you a story you don't believe.
A mate of mine from Freezing Moon sent an article a week ago, that also offers the model for free, under CC, article which still didn't got published. Sigh. That's why :P
Greg Zaal is a fantastic artist that works very hard on his projects, As he mentioned, this is part of an upcoming film. Who are we to ask for his hard work for free?
I hope when the film is done he will sell a dvd including the source files which I would happily purchase.
If you think he did not create it because you can't download the source then at least Greg can take the compliment "Your work is so awesome I can't believe you made it" :P
This has nothing to do with Greg, as I said in a comment below.
Did you eat a lot of paint chips as a kid?
Not at as much as you it seems.
Greg has shared many hours of great tutorials and free models. Very real. Seems like a rude comment. Many things on blendswap should not exist if you ask some people.
This has nothing to do with Greg. It has to do with submitting something to BN more than two weeks ago, neat game model, under CC, getting rejected at first for having a similar video for the pretext of being too long. We made a shorter video and it still didn't got posted.
In that case, your comments would be best posted in the contact section.
As Bart is a very busy guy, he can't read all of the comments. Your comments would be better suited to contacting him directly.
I'm sure you can see our confusion as to the relation between this matter and Greg Zaal's work.
To avoid confusion in the future it is best these matters be taken to Bart directly.
That's true, didn't meant to sound rude. Apologies to Greg, his work is great but we felt a bit cheated here regarding the current situation xD
Now there's not much reason for our model to be posted as people would be like "great, yet another steam punk vehicle".
Oh and by the way, I'm on vacation this week.
I received the updated video only yesterday, so please don't complain. Also, the fact that something is CC doesn't mean it automatically gets accepted.
Render Engine used?
Cycles
Nice Work - love it !
Render time for each frame ? I like it, + 9 !
wow that's awesome!
Very cool!!!
Really nice! :D
I like it really. Awesome as usual from you, Greg.
Good,elementary level modeling
i love the materials.. i hope Greg will share it ^_^
All the naysayers in the Bmesh thread need to take note: Blender can hang with the expensive software quite well, and demonstrations like this are the proof.
