I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

  1. Motion Blur, Layers on EXR, Smoke, Progressive animation render....these alone would make me cry in joy and their not even a fraction of what is coming..............i LOVE this!!

  2. Cycles is great and would be great for network rendering aswell, but hoping that not all development is going to be on cycles.
    It would be nice to see existing tools improved, but b-mesh will have to be finished and merged first.

  3. Hair is totally broken right now (converting to mesh is useless for animations)....perhaps a temporary patch could ease the wait until winter 2012

    •  Hey Baldy, I am in the same boat. I have managed to achieve semi success by rendering the hair with BI and comping it on. You can check it out here http://www.theemptyroom.co.uk/hansel-character-model .Far from ideal but looks ok for now. If you are interested I can make a quick tutorial.

       Please let me know if you find any solutions on this front. It is a very long indeed.
