Latvia's State Forests commercial

Karlis writes:

These 3 commercials were made as encouragement for people to go in nature and leave all bad, stressful city things in forest.

Timelapse of 3 different places in forests where captured and words - stress, anger and routine were placed in them. All 3D was done in Blender.

Production: Hypnosis Group
Idea: Mooz

    • We went to the forest at late evening and waited for morning to come. We set up filming equipment with first sunlight and spent all day there capturing 1 frame every 2 minutes. :) Nature is a real timelapse.. a bit processed to take off the flicker by clouds and light changes.

        • Well, there is some soft body simulation + lattice deforming and simple keyframe animation involved. To have the effect of timelapse we moved keyframes manually to randomise and to have nonconsistent, jagged movement.

  1. I was quite amazed that i find my country in the news feed ;D

And when i saw those commercials on tv, i had a feeling it had been done in blender... :D

  2. nice work but the sound effects  especially for the  wetland seem a but too squashy. Nice work over all:)
    maybe some wire frames...

    • It was a bit tricky, yes. Light direction was matched manually. We made some geometry to mimic shadows of trees, but the synchronisation was actually made in compositing.. some shadows are 2D illusion too, made in compositing... using After Effects.  I would like to use Blender for that, but it would be pain in the ass..
