I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

    • I also have a 540m  m for mobile, and just got it working, your laptop like mine, may have two graphics card, internal intel one and the nvidia one, you must got to the nvidia control panel and add blender to the apps list. Then check the use nvidia card button when blender is launched, then cycles should work using the GPU.

  1. Andrew Porter: that gpu has 96 cuda cores so same as my quadro 600, I couldn't get Cycles to work until I updated the Nvidia drivers to 2.80+ hope this helps.

  2. Yes, this was already posted on BlenderNation on October 24, 2011 by cekuhnen. But indeed, it's very interesting, because it's hot news nowadays. Cycles is "COMING SOON  IN THIS THEATRE !"  :-)
