A demonstration of "Real-Time Dynamic 3D Surface Reconstruction and Interaction". No Blender implementation yet, but a guy can dream, right? ;-)

Wow ooo .. Again Wow ooo
I have 2 words. Do want.
I remember when I first read about the PrimeSense cameras in a robotics blog it was so cool, but then it was snatched up by Microsoft. At least they didn't sell the company outright, and now they are coming out with independent products.
Wow. This technology is a completely new way for computers to interact with our environment! I was impressed before, and now I'm excited!
O_O Simply amazing! Astouding! Mind=Blown! What else can I say!? (Now, integration into blender....... >:) )
Yes, amazing demo ! The polygon count is probably huge !
Amazing, The raw 3d seems noisy and not really a replacement for 3d modelling (unless you like to do a lot of re-topology) but looks really good for simulations.
Also maybe some reverse-mocap? (Capturing the scene in 3d then adding stuff to the scene and the camera movement and original 3d scene are already in sync so no additional work needed?)
Also 3d Augmented Reality Apps seem one step closer with this, amazing.
it will be a real bomb when the devices to scan the reality will be miniaturized to fit mobile phones' sizes ;) Imagine like you're sending some 3d view of your place to your friend in MMS. Many other capabilities also...
*shivers*
Implementing special FX into movies would be a lot easier with such technology...
Sorry for the embed problems. It seems that oEmbed is having some issues lately :-(

I don't have a kinect, yet, so if anyone gets a chance to actually use this, please post about it!!!! This is great stuff we got here!! haha.
I don't think it's the same software, but it sure is another great kinect hack!
...things get more and more and more easyier, since humans have nothing more to do aside from sliding some controllers - everyone can everything - what a boring world! What a creepy future!
...as Leonardo Di Vinci would have said when they discovered "film" to take pictures! Lol. Then there was 200 or 300 years of great photographers doing great things. It's just more doors, it's our job "as a generation" to figure out what that next step in art will be. We are a bunch of painters who must open up our minds to cameras, sure they make capturing a bit boring, but they have so many other awesome uses for so many different kinds of art!
Just blown my mind.... I see the next generation of water pistols!
Blown away!!! Want it now!!!!
Can you imagine how awesome this would be for crime scene investigation. No longer to rely on photos from the scene, but to discern the scene from any angle and under any lighting conditions... after the evidence has been collected and filed! Get Abby one of these NOW!
Wow, stunning stuff, the possible applications are endless!
dear santa...
Oh. Mah. Gawd. WE ARE ON THE VERGE OF VIRTUAL REALITY!
This, my friends, is the next level of gaming. I'd pay a solid $20 just to run around my house drawing on crap with my magic fingers!
