Catalan Blender Workshops in Barcelona

6

Blender Artist Raimon will be giving two Blender Workshops in Casa Orlandai, a cultural centre in Barcelona. Each consists of 20 teaching hours and will cost only €83.80.

Raimon writes:

The first one is a traditional introduction to Blender and general 3D concepts: working with objects, mainly, and the basics of modelling, lighting and materials. This one is from October 10 to 20, from 19 to 21.30h, eight sessions. (monday-friday).

The second one is a more advanced course, covering issues like working with modifiers, basics about animation of objects and values, and other advanced tools that help us to manage more complex, sophisticated scenes in Blender. This one is from November 7 to 16, from 19 to 21.30h., eight sessions too.

  1. Hi mr. lol,

obviously your opinions are absolutely free, both as in a beer and as in speech. But if you come to Barcelona, or you live in, you'll realize that 80 € for a a such specialized training course is plainly cheap. Other places where I teach THE SAME contents ask for prices around 240 €, so three times more expensive, and they still aren't the most expensive on the landscape.

There are other places where I teach Blender that are meanwhile absolutely free for the students, and where I'm paid at the best rate, surprisingly. But besides these special cases, from where you think that could come the income needed to pay the teacher? If you multiply 80 x around 8-10 students it results around 640-800 €, and if a teacher is paid at a 30 € hourly rate (a reasonable standard) x 20 hours (600 €), the remaining for the housing equipment is only 40-200 €.

So I have still no clue about what make you lol, and it will be great to know. Thanks,
    Raimon

  2. Dear lol, Yes... 4 euro per hour is really too much. I'd rather spend it on something more useful... like taking a 1 hour bus ride.

  3. I suppose that the course will be given in catalonian, right? Nice initiative! Here in Bilbao I don't know any place to learn Blender, neither in spanish nor in vasque.

    Saludos desde el norte! xD
