You can now vote for your favorite Open Source Multimedia software at the Packt Open Source Awards 2011. I can only guess which one that is? ;-)

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Community Lead at n8n.

i’m sorry blender, my favorite is MyPaint… but since that isn’t an option this becomes a tough choice.

i really like blender but i use gimp and inkscape more often.

i like Krita but it’s got some issues with tablets that need fixing before i can use it for more than converting an image to cmyk and tweaking colors.

inkscape is boss. IMO the only thing adobe illustrator has over inkscape is a visible layer/object window which at times can be a big thing but inkscape still does well without it.

the only reason i’d use photoshop over gimp would be for photoshop’s cmyk support but i can use krita for that.

…. at least it isn’t like voting in a US election where it’s picking the better of two bad choices or throwing your vote away on a third party.
