Oliver the man behind BlenderTuts released a compete series about modeling a spider web. The tutorial does not only focus on pure modeling but also touches on cloth simulation, web deformation, and the particle system for water drops. Enjoy

FIrst! Three parts? This is almost a webisode! :p
beautiful
Hey!!! Thanks for publishing this! It's a honor :)
Hope you like it, and by the way... it's blendtuts, not blendertuts xD
Thanks again! See you! :D
Hey Oliver Villar!
You have a very pleasant voice! Thank you for sharing this cool tutorials. *thumbs up* for you! :)
What I like the most is the length of the tutorials. Not too short not too long. And useful information.
Thanks for the tutorial, Oliver! your website in general has some very nice tutorials so I went ahead and bookmarked it.
Thanks for sharing! I checked out your site and bookmarked it too. Cool stuff!
Great tut Olivar. One small criticism - the spirals don't so much curve towards the centre as curve downwards towards gravity. i.e. top ones curve down, bottom ones curve down. I guess dragging the handles down rather than scaling towards the centre would correct this?
Thank you again.
well with all my respect ! if I have to spent 75 minutes of my life watching a video on how to create a spider web, plus may be 2 hours? implementing it , then I rather animate a cockroach or ant walking around !
hmmm... ! :) we live difficult times, we need simpler stuff, quick and probablyvless quality...but that's where the money is !
Well, none of the 3 video can be played... So, no comment, sorry.
Now, videos are working. I have had time to watch only parts 1 and 2 sofar, but I can say that they are interesting. As Im learning Blender 2.59, it helped me with some features. Thanks ! I will watch with interest part 3 asap !
@AnimaticoideX: No one is forcing you to watch this. Other people might find the videos useful, and what's wrong with that?

Well, I have watched the third part. Very nice result and good tutorial ! Every trick I discover in Blender 2.59 is worth it. Thank you !
Hey ! What was wrong with my comment? No big deal guys ! Hey ! Banning by IP Address is a trick for kids ! :)
We can't express our own ideas now? :)?
WOW ! a dirty campaign? I did not write that comment above ! Someone is playing around with my site, please check anyone with that IP address, and ban it ! WTF?
Armando (AnimaticoideX) your past actions resulted in it.
This is a professional news outlet - please act accordingly.
@ cekugnen
What actions Mister do you talk about? Are you high? or still hurt about Great Dane?
Please behave accordingly since this is a place to talk about work on Blender, no about race, money or discrimination as you intended it to be.
Quite sure you were the one writing the comment above just to make yourself look good.....respect others people mind and search for real things before jumping into conclusions :)
isn't better use Screw and Simple deform Modifier to create Spiral web in these two steps and Cloth Modifier for natural shape (gravity) and movement in wind?
just quick show . . .

Great article, great voice and pacing. I don't get the Nodes stuff but you've inspired me to look at that, Thanks Mate!
Pretty useful, thanks!
