I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

  1. Woohoo FIRST !! :-D

Thanks a lot Bart for this article.
I was looking for something like this.

    Cycles looks really promising !

  2. I've downloaded the last cycles build from graphicall, and I haven't been able to find out what the new holdout closure really does and how to use it, does anybody know?

Thanks for floating point pixel support!! 2d composite with cycles have a lot of sense now!!

  4. I am using Cycles for architecture visualization.. It's completely amazing! With his full Blender integration, realtime 3d viewport update, realistic shadows and light bounce, NOW I JUST need Blender for ALL my graphic purposes...
