9

The results of the Google Summer of Code are in! The Blender Foundation has published a list of the results and the their target Blender version release.

Ton Roosendaal writes:

Out of the 17 students who joined our Google Summer of Code project, 15 made it for the midterm and all had their projects approved, delivering results exceeding our expectations in many cases!

Several projects have been submitted to be reviewed for inclusion in our releases, some will continue working for a while to get reviewed later. Accepted projects in Blender 2.60 are marked with (A), submitted for review are marked (R), submitted for 2.61 are marked (A+).

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

  1. someone knows why the "community news" section in Blendernation are showing the same Blendercookie links during more than 3 days?

    this is not working:
    "test product download"

I always visit it to know more news, but was wierd found daily these links XD

    Greetings

  2. Wow, there is some great stuff in there. None of the improvements are trivial, and some have come in handy already, like the Collada import/export improvements. And the animation portion of it, with the Mocap conversion, blending and baking actions -- fabulous, not to forget the camera tracking. Whew! So this is the result of redoing the code. Now if someone would care to tackle the cloth crossing issue my world would be at peace. :)
