The Garage is open: high quality car models for just 5 Euro

27

At PSRenderer you can buy high quality models of luxury sports cars for the amazing price of just 5 Euro. This is seriously an astonishing deal compared to the detail level of the cars you can get. Sofar there are 34 car models including brands such as Mercedes, Audi, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, Toyota, Nissan, Honda, Dodge, Chevrolet, Ford, and others.

The person behind the website, Hans Peter, is a freelance graphic designer, who in his passion enjoys building car model exteriors in Blender. He build most of those cars on a quite slow 800 Mhz PC and hopes with the sales to fund a new PC.
As a bonus he also offers this: "When he was able to reach the 1000$ mark everybody who bought cars from him, can dowload the same amount of new cars for free.

This is what you get:

  • Very detailed exteriors
  • Simple / basic interiors
  • 3DS or OBJ Format

Purchase Request / Payment System: "please read carefully"
PayPal is a great and easy system, however not quite cheap, specifically, when you are outside Germany. To eliminate those currency transaction fees, you can simply send the purchase amount as a gift, instead of paying a purchase order. Here at Blendernation we do the same, when Bart pays the writers.

  1. Leave a purchase comment at http://psrenderer.wordpress.com  including your email - list the cars you would like to purchase.
  2. Please send the gift reflecting the total purchase amount to this PayPal account: "Supraking at live dot de".
  3. You can input the desired car models inside the comment section for the recipients email to double confirm what you want to buy.
  4. Upon payment arrival the seller will send you the models you requested + paid for via the email you.

This is a simple purchase and payment system and thanks to PayPal there is also perfect transparency.

  1. Why does everyone only do expensive and fancy vehicles? sure they look pretty and exotic, but you can't populate a a street scene with only exotic shiny brand-new vehicles.
Show me some used 1980's woody Station Wagon :D

    btw, nice models :)

  2. indeed
of course it's nice to have it just for 1 euro but when I see a 1.000.000.000th Lamborghini Gallardo or Bugatti Veyron I just wanna vomit...really and not couse it's ugly or something but it's too popular and too much of the same cars.

  3. Good points you two. Although I wonder how the online reference material is for older vehicles. It's not like most people are proud to show off top/side/front pictures of their 1980 rust-mobile :)

  4. hmm not quite sure either hawk....
went to his bloog, quite sparse with the information. i mean i would expect to at least see some posts regarding his apparent obsession with his subject, but nah.... nothing of any substance. it's a bit disconcerting. plus .3ds or .obj..... .3ds which is proprietary and doesn't always import so easily or .obj where you lose all mapping info submaterial blah blah blah.

it's just a bit weird for someone who works in blender to distribute his products in such a manner. maybe he thought it was more universally accepted, and not targetting blender specifically. hopefully he'll provide a blend file on request.

  5. @Hawk
It is the question of compression. You can compress an .obj file from 10 mb to 1 but not with .blend files.
I'm also providing .blend files. But if you buy 10 models you will have to wait until you get 2 mails. Because each of the files is around 7-10 Mb's. And 10 files make 70 Mb. So you would get your files in a splitted archive. But don't worry I provide also .blend files. :)

To all other guys here. I also have models from 1970. :) and new cars are coming. Visit my youtube channel to see a sneak preview of one of the latest models I'm creating. youtube.com/ypp22010

My goal is to fund 1000 € to buy a new Computer. I'm working on a very old pc with 800 Mhz. After I get 1000 €, each buyer will have the opportunity to get the same amount of cars they ordered for free.

    @HumanBlade
I'm new to wordpress or blogging stuff etc. Of course I'm going to fill up the site with usefull informations. Probably making of videos etc. ( short videos not tutorials :) ). And if such a wordpress plug in exists I will bind it to make it easier to buy models just buy paying and downloading.

As I said, I'm working on a very old Pentium 3 machine with only 861 Mhz. Making textures etc. would cost me even more time than modelling a new car. Blender 3D is the only graphics suite that runs on my pc besides Gimp ^^. This cars were made for the first racing game made with Unreal Development Kit. But my team stopped supporting me due to their University stuff etc. We were 20 Guys from Germany and Switzerland. After that I decided to sell the models. So I landed here with the hope to be successfull. :)

  7. It is all updated again.

I think those are some great car models, if it is not the model you need, you have Blender to do so ;)

  8. Great models, Supraking! And getting it done using an older computer model, it must have taken a good while (and probably some frustrating moments) to create that nice stock of car models. I DEFINITELY can understand that. (I'm using a freakin' netbook at the moment, until I get a new computer around October-November.) Tip my hat to you, dude! Best of luck to you, man!

  9. @Brian L.
Wow such wonderfull and inspiring words. :) Thank you for that
I started in 2008 with modelling and finished this load of cars this year in march. So next load will follow.

  10. Nice work.

"You can compress an .obj file from 10 mb to 1 but not with .blend files."

I didn't check if it is 1/10, but The internal compression tool of Blender works fine. I use it instead of zip in most cases.

  11. AnimaticoideX on

I would be interested in the Ford Mustang. However I have a few questions of my own...Can I use it in commercial Projects? Does the model include textures and materials? Is it modeled inside?

  12. @AnimaticoideX
    Hello
Yes you can use the models for Commercial Projects. The models come without textures as mentioned in previous posts and without materials. I only do clay renders due to my low end pc. :) If you want a model just pay with your PayPal account to [email protected] and you will immediately get the model. The car has basic interior. That means with original seats, mirror, steering wheel, gear knob and insruments armature.

  13. Totally agree on cars being too fancy!
Some average 3-5 years old Volkswagen is much more useful than a Ferrari. Who will put that in front of a row house for instance? And there's much more row houses than posh villas. Both need visualisations.

  14. @Konstantins
As I said the next load of cars will follow in few weeks. I can say it will contain cars you would normally see on the street. But you also should know that I was creating this cars for a racing game. In a modern racing game you wouldn't drive a VW Golf against a Ferrari. :) I'm specialized on special or exotic cars.

  15. I am guessing that somewhere there is a list of cars? Can't even see the names of the cars in the photo you provide. Glad to purchase all, just prefer you disclose better information. Even if you don't have a purchase site... you should provide a higher quality photo or at least a list of the files.

no sale for now... sorry. Wanted to support you.

    ron

  16. @ron
    Hello.
Move your mouse cursor over the car picture you want it will show you the name of the car manufacturer etc.
As I said in my previous posts I'm using an 800 Mhz pc and creating high quality renders with full hd resolution would take me month. So please accept it. I'm new to blogging stuff and especially wordpress. I'm working on it to make the site confortable for everyone. Three people already bought models and it took about 5 minutes to send the files back. :) So I wouldn't like to get into troubles because of 5 € because I want to keep this thread alive.
And new cars are coming in few weeks.

    @tidbit
Thank you very much for your tip. Actually the pictures look ok when I visit the site. photobucket.com/home/yp-p2

    Edit:
Oh i see now only thumbnails work fine. I knew there is something tricky with photobucket. :)
Anyways the cars look ok on my website.

  17. @ Supraking: Hi
I hope you'll get your new computer, but i want to go along what has been said further up:
why not model realistic cars ? Realistic in the sense "i see them on the street".
I mean, if i have do do some architectural rendering (probably a good % of your potential clientship), I'd want some small french or japanese cars as well, or 10-15 years old cars too.
A building rendering filled up with Ferraris and Lamborghinis is only realistic in Monaco…

  18. @Gwenouille
    Hi there. :)
Please read previous posts. Next load of cars will also include normal vehicles you also see on streets. Like VW's etc.

  19. Erwin Coumans on

Do you know that most car manufacturers require license fees if you use models of their cars in commercial projects, such as a game?

Is that made clear to everyone who purchases those models?
    Thanks,
    Erwin

  20. @Erwin Coumans
    Hello.
I have never said that the game project we were making was a commercial project.
I don't force people to buy the car models to use them in commercials etc. Every buyer can decide by himself to use the models in commercial etc. But getting licences for it is their task. And if you are doing a commercial for a car manufacturer you have your licence automatically to be able to make the commercial. :)
Websites like turbosquid.com also provide a huge database of vehicles. They also sell them licence free.
Some people want just experiement with some rendering techniques on models or just rig them or just play with them.
Some just want have a model just to create their personnal background images etc.
Buying a model from someone else is time saving. According to you nobody should drive a car on the streets because it is probably getting filmed etc. :)

    Best regards
