Carlos writes:

The Game Art Project it is totally independent and is being done in Blender, Gimp and others open source softwares.

The first game in the Project is called Tilgatron and it takes place in a apocaliptic São Paulo a city of Brazil, totally devastated after a alien invasion. The main character is a little robot called TJ-2000 and your mission is to invade the aliens ships and regain Earths freedom.

It aims a theme that joins fun elements of brazilian culture and a creative/interesting story with a awesome old plataform style gameplay.

  1. A have a small game design advise for you. If you're planning to make a "platformer" with such distant camera, you should consider using a more rectangular character (a square shape one). This way you will find the game more responsive. Square shaped character (like Mario or the character from the Braid game) gives player a sort of additional precision, when jumping between platforms. It's easier to predict if the character will land on the edge of a platform or if he will miss it. As a result the game will feel more natural to the player.

And keep going guys! The game looks promising.

  2. Remind me of my first attempt using the blender game engine.
You have got a long way to go but keep going! Practice make perfect.
The drawing concept are perfect though.
