Entoforms featured on BoingBoing

7

Dolf Veenvliet's (Macouno) Enotoforms project was featured a while ago on BlenderNation. It's an open-source project using blender and python to generate 3D printable "future fossils": small arthropod-like creations that Dolf's code creates from arbitrary text as their DNA. Anyway, the project and Dolf's crowdfunding efforts got featured on high-profile blog and self proclaimed directory of wonderful things BoingBoing.

You can find the post (including a video about the project) here.

  1. His project is amazing, I wish I could learn python and do what I want in Blender like him.
    Nice and creative work !

  2. Its not so much learning python or bpy as it is embracing learning and knowledge and the unlimited amount of power it can give you.

I want a like button for dusty comment too. ;)

As for this project its a great , fresh , unique idea and the guy behind it is very nice as well as I had the pleasure of chating with him via irc.

  3. Nice plug for the project. I'm a big fan of Cory Doctorow. He's a big promoter of open source and the Creative Commons. All his novels are licensed CC and available for free. For an interesting SF story that features a lot about 3D printing (A little beyond what we can do these days) check out his book Makers. Its a free download.
