Dolf Veenvliet's (Macouno) Enotoforms project was featured a while ago on BlenderNation. It's an open-source project using blender and python to generate 3D printable "future fossils": small arthropod-like creations that Dolf's code creates from arbitrary text as their DNA. Anyway, the project and Dolf's crowdfunding efforts got featured on high-profile blog and self proclaimed directory of wonderful things BoingBoing.
You can find the post (including a video about the project) here.

His project is amazing, I wish I could learn python and do what I want in Blender like him.
Nice and creative work !
@Jalik
What's stopping you other than your own confidence? ;)
@Dusty, I'm missing a like button at the bottom of your post. ;)
@Jalik, Blendercookie has some tutorials on python. For example: http://www.blendercookie.com/2011/06/02/building-an-audio-visualizer-in-python
it's not so much learning python as it is learning the bpy api.
Its not so much learning python or bpy as it is embracing learning and knowledge and the unlimited amount of power it can give you.
I want a like button for dusty comment too. ;)
As for this project its a great , fresh , unique idea and the guy behind it is very nice as well as I had the pleasure of chating with him via irc.
Nice plug for the project. I'm a big fan of Cory Doctorow. He's a big promoter of open source and the Creative Commons. All his novels are licensed CC and available for free. For an interesting SF story that features a lot about 3D printing (A little beyond what we can do these days) check out his book Makers. Its a free download.
Entoforms are just awesome!!!
they're really alike arthropods, it's they truly were alive...
