CGSociety and NVidia are hosting a product design design contest. They have some nice prizes (cash + hardware, see below), the deadline is July 18th.
From the announcement:

What I find to be rather disappointing is that all applicants have to be over eighteen. Like I wouldn't want a quadro 6000 and ten grand?

A nice contest - but I am wondering about the background...
Are they desperately looking for new applications of their overpowered phones-to-be devices, running out of battery after some hours of work? And the contestants will do work that highly payed marketing people who aren't able to do so ;-)
Anyways, perhaps we'll see something really new (and they require that it can be realized in due time).
Ein nettes Wahlen - aber ich bin über den Hintergrund fragen ... Sind sie verzweifelt auf der Suche nach neuen Anwendungen ihrer überwältigt Telefone-to-be-Geräte mit Akkustrom nach einigen Stunden Arbeit? Und die Teilnehmer wird nicht funktionieren, dass hoch bezahlte Marketing-Leute, die nicht in der Lage, so ;-) Wie auch immer tun, vielleicht werden wir etwas wirklich Neues zu sehen (und sie verlangen, dass sie rechtzeitig realisiert werden können).
