Jak Ka Ran – Movie Trailer
Tunyalit Karnjanakul is a motion graphics designer from Thailand and he send us an email about his lates finished film project where he used Blender to do certain special effects. For this film he used Blender to do the 3D CG while Adobe After Effects was used for compositing and the film cutting was done using Apple’s Finale Cut Pro.
He works for Tunyalit Studio which uses Blender for mainly all of their CG needs. They do mainly CG animation, Motion Graphic Advertising and also some film and trailers

Concept idea
This is a trailer I have made for a Thai comedy film directed by one of the most flavorist comedy performer in Thailand. The idea is simple, I try to make the picture of the street to link to the main character in the film. She is the bike passenger and this gives me the view from a bikers perspective.
Production
I use Blender for the pictures of the background CG. It is so simple to create texture of the street and animated with the internal engine. The raw picture from Blender is composite in Adobe After Effect. To create motion graphic text in Blender is really more what I want but I have to use After Effect because the software does not support the Thai language and I hope I can type Thai in 2.5 when it stable :)Now I am working on another trailer and yes it will be create with Blender.

That was actually quite funny to watch even though I don’t understand Thai. It reminds me very much of the style of comedy you see here in Japan. Anyway, I couldn’t help but wonder which were the parts used in blender… the title animation? the bullets for the gun? I didn’t know what I was looking for to be honest, but that could the sign of a great artist.

You do know that the language in which the dialog is spoken has no impact at all on whether the movie is good or bad, right? (At least in the opinion of one U.S. citizen whose only language is English…)

This movie looks awesome! Great to see Blender is being used for production needs in various ways. =D
Just wanted to quickly try and put out some flames. I don’t think Calumk meant his comment as it reads, though I completely understand how people could take it that way. I think he was just exclaiming as he doesn’t speak Thai, ‘If I’m able to watch this movie with english subtitles it would be great’. At least that’s how I figured he meant to say it.

I agree with Lee Salvemini/LohnS, Calumk probably didn’t mean it as it reads, he just phrased his comment poorly.
That’s one of the reasons why everyone should pay a little more attention to the language in the comments, re-read it after typing, see how it sounds. That also applies to some of our post publishers here. Dear cekuhnen, I recommend turning on the automatic spell-checker that comes with the browser, it would pick out misspellings such as ‘lates’. :) Although of course it won’t deal with word order issues, like in the first sentence of the second paragraph – you have to take care of that yourself.
Sorry, don’t want to be nitpicking, but I think it’s important to put a little more effort when writing something for hundreds or thousands of other people to see.

I would love to watch this film dubbed or subtitled. It looks mental. Theres a few rough cuts but it looks totally wacky
subtiltes would be far enough, no need to dub everything in english!

I’m quite sure you can’t imagine how hilarious of this :) To get it you have to learn my language cause most of Thai Films are dialog.
I work on blender few projects after this trailer, yes on another movie trailer and visual background of concert. Most of my job is mixed of variety technic I’m so sorry if you can’t see bit’s of Blender, I sent the Trailer about two month ago maybe tree and the point is about many people here said free CG software is for kid playing around but nock nock this is 2K res you see on silver screen

edit->create3dobjectfromtext
load your font (unicode) for the textobject

Well, it’s been a little more than a year since this article was posted! Does anyone have any info on the availability of a DVD for sale in the US? Any news on a subbed version? I love the trailer and love Jeeja, and would really love to see this flick!
