Graphicall.org 2.0

I believe most of you are familiar with the www.graphicall.org website. For over 6 years now it’s been a place for people to share their custom versions of Blender 3D with the entire community. It was started by Daniel Salazar (ZanQdo) and Pablo Vazquez (venomgfx) back before anyone knew what “pinkify” (see anything made by Pablo) meant.

A lot has happened since then… The community has grown by leaps and bounds. Three Blender Institute movies and a game were made. Blender’s interface got completely rewritten… And the internet has evolved into a whole new creature with web 2.0, and social media. It was about time GraphicAll.org followed suit, and evolved.

We actually started development of the new system over a year ago. The folder Dolf Veenvliet (macouno) has been coding in says it was created March 20th 2010… so yeah… it took a while. But then, we didn’t just upgrade the website, we wrote an entirely new system from scratch. Gone are the iframes, the tables. In are a whole heap of fresh new goodies.

Also… something new to the Blender community that needs mentioning is the “blenderhead id” login system. Thanks to Nathan Letwory (jesterKing) www.blenderstorm.org is now an open-id provider. This means, you can log in to multiple Blender community websites using a single account. Currently it’s just GraphicAll.org and Blenderstorm.org, but more are on the way. So go register at Blenderstorm.org, if you haven’t already!

It has been a pleasure to work on bringing you the new website, and we are rather proud of it. We hope you all stop by soon!

The GraphicAll.org monkeys.
