BlenderArt Magazine is looking for content for their upcoming issue #33, with theme "Everything but the kitchen sink..."
Sandra Gilbert writes:
It’s time again to start thinking about articles, tutorials and images for Issue # 33 of Blenderart Magazine.
The theme for this issue is “Everything but the kitchen sink…”
Here is your chance to discuss/write about anything blender related that interests you. Do you have a favorite feature or technique that you are just dying to share with others? Or how about your super cool latest project.
Well now is the time to write all about it and share it with all of us.
Here are just some of the possible topics you could write about:
- favorite feature / tool: tell us all about it, how it works, how you use it.
- favorite technique or workflow
- personal / commercial projects you are working on
- favorite Blender book or site
Also wanted, great shaders, materials and node setups for great looking materials and effects.

I love this mag! But does that mean if i submit an gallery image of a kitchen sink it will not be published?!? That would exclude my work completely!
Thanks for the news ! I just submitted my latest tutorial about car modeling, written the detailed way and with a high-end objective.
Already available here : http://www.smcars.net/forums/tutorials/34591-modeling-car-high-end-detailed-tutorial.html#post261494.
mine too - but i send it as bathroom-sink so it gets accepted ;-)
@Thomas Baron -- Looks like that link requires registration on that website, which is perhaps overkill for a link posted on a site like BN? Is there a public version?
@Grandmaster B I've already sent them an angry email with big red capital letters lambasting them for their bigoted decision. 'Everything but' types are explicitly exclusionary, and i, like you, am also greatly affected by their decision. And i suspect their readers will be affected once they crack open their ereaders and haven't a single lave to gaze upon. Uppity blender snobs!
@James : You're right, my bad ! I will host it on my website asap.
I expect Sandra will be receiving several renders of kitchen sinks soon.
@HumanBlade Get a life!
LOL, I hereby promise to accept all kitchen sinks, providing they are not filled with last night's dinner dishes. So all kitchen sink enthusiasts, knock yourselves out.
I entered a short article and a render! :)
I hope that it fits the requirements! :D
Kind regards,
Alex / DesignsbyALX
That fits just fine.
i was wondering if there was a way we could do an I Pad app for this mag, me i dont have the skills to make one but it would be nice, i have a few mag apps on my i pad and it would be great to read this one off of my i pad. just an idea
Are you not able to read pdfs on your ipad. I assumed that pdfs were an option for ipads.
Suddenly i got interesting idea based on kitchen sink. Actually i plan to made some Fable scene with kitchen sink as background (honestly, it is serious idea). Do you think Sandra will reject my work ??
@Bhanaspati Well lets get to that point first
Forgot a wink with last comment ;)
In second though, is OK if Sandra reject my work, i can send it again for next issue. Someone (very untrusted source) tell me the main theme for Issue # 34 is "All about Kitchen Sink" :)
New link for my tutorial, available for everyone without any registration : http://www.thomasbaron.net/modeling-a-car-a-high-end-detailed-tutorial/
Hi Sandra, I've sent you an article submission about my short film in progress.
