About the Author
Bart Veldhuizen I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

Awesome work. Hope somebody gets inspired and starts animating!
Holy smoke, I'm wordless! Thanx for sharing this great piece of work with Us!
BTW, Merry Christmax for all blenderheads! = Kellemes Karácsonyi Unnepeket! (in HU)
is this a xmas present wow thanks
merry christmas
dont forget Christ in Christmas
very nice !!
She's cute!!
But there's something with her jaws, especially her lower jaw, that puzzles me. There are some movements there that I couldn't to if it would save my life
Now,this is a real treat! thanks
That's really an amazing rig.
A deep bow to you, Bart.
Thanks and happy X-mas everyone!
Thanks for sharing. Really cool rig :-)
awesome!! will try this, THANKS!!!
It's a great rig with a terrible name. Especially with the all-caps label on the base, her name looks quite vulgar!
@matty
Flick is a shortened version of Felicity like matty is a shortened version of Matthew (except matty should have a capital letter at the start)
@ndee
I haven't had a chance to play around with this rig but it looks like it just needs some custom bones shapes
Either way ndee congrats
(PS matty, that is a shortened version of congratulations)
i have problems with opening the file using different builds
it says it's not a proper blend file. i used a recent 2.55 graphicall build, official 2.5 release and freestyle branch to no avail. help!
The dropbox account was disabled :(
Never trust a service from Fartbook and Friends.
Next Step: The rig was stolen and is property of ...
insert name here.
Thank you everyone for your kind words!
I didn't know this would cause so much traffic!! I've uploaded it now also to my webserver! Here's the link!

Have fun with it!
@tonieprawda
when opening say that you don't want to load the ui. this is possible on the left side. On some graphiccards the glsl does seem to make trouble.
Santa has come!!!!
Thanks!
Thank you so much!
Your character is freaking awesome, reminds me "Monkey Island".
I would like to thank you too. But I cannot download the file anywhere!
Could someone please help me?
Merry Christmas Loeny
Sorry.. here is the corrected link:

All I can say is I'm blown away by the materials you created in as well as your rigging skills. It looks like something that would take 20 minutes to render each frame but it only takes a couple of seconds. You have to tell me your secret to such jaw dropping materials that render as fast as these do.
sorry I thought this was some sort of christmas game
I thank you so much. Now Christmas has come to me.
Thank you
I'm not too familiar with Blender ... is there a way of looking at the mesh?
I can't seem to select Flick and enter edit mode to look at the topology.
Thank you.
>I’m not too familiar with Blender … is there a way of looking at the mesh?
>I can’t seem to select Flick and enter edit mode to look at the topology.
In the Outliner, expand "Turntable" , then expand "Flick_Armature".
There you'll notice that every little mouse arrow icons are greyed, meaning selection for their corresponding part is restricted/disabled.
Click on each of those little mouse arrow icons to turn them on, and you'll be able to select the Flick mesh and study it in the Edit Mode.
Really amazing work, thanks for sharing Ndee !
This is great, thanks!
I've been working on a character, and the rig has been giving me as much headache as the hands are, this will make for a great reference.
Great work, never thought of using stretch bones in a facial rig in stead of shapekeys!
Thanks alot!
It's VERY cool.
I'm trying to learn from it, but it's not letting me select Flick's model at all. Only the Armature. I've gone to Object Mode but still nothing. I don't even see it in the list with the lamps, shapes, etc. Hiw di I select the mesh?
Oh, it also doesn't let me append anything from the file to another. If there's a way to prevent others from selecting the mesh, can someone tell me how it's done so I can use it on some of files I want to share but not give away the model?
Thanks
I installed the last version of blender and opened the flickr the pirate girl, but when i select its spine and push the button translate and dragg , the head keep frozed and the translate command only move the bottom part of the body.
