The Projects.blender.org migration is complete! The archaic backbone of Blender's development has been replaced with a modern system. Check it out!

Hi all,
1) projects.blender.org
- Trackers and projects.blender.org migrated.
- We had some bad luck with a server hanging, but that's solved now.
- todo: SCM viewer for browsing svn history. Will come back early january (?) (tip: use svn annotate for checking files)
- todo: searching for open reports assigned to specific person
- Issues for the trackers or website can be posted here.
2) 2.5 issues
- Time for a new official beta! Proposal: announce on 26th, release midweek after. Question: are release builders available in this holiday season?
- Ton will now for real work on the official regression test update! A version of it should be in the GSoX unit-test project.
- Dalai proposes to replace the ancient built-in vector font with a more modern (and official free) one. We can even include a couple? Waiting for proposal...
- Work on UI "Style" system is a todo, and will allow loading own font sets, and assign to UI items like panels, menus, buttons, labels.
- Tracker work (bug fixing) goes excellent. We're getting more time to move attention to the long todo in wiki.blender.org now.
3) Other projects
- Francesco Siddi is working on the WP theme and layout for [the] code.blender.org
. Estimated release is this week!-Ton-

Looks Like Santa will bring us a really cool belated Christmas gift.
I hope blender will handle substitute font the correct way.
Loading old files should not make text disappear.
I believe there is an error in title "dec 21" instead of "dec 12". :)
21.12.2010
Quite a nice datum...
And with all the 1s and 2s, it's pretty easy to mix up... heh.
Nice update :)
BTW! Today is the full lunar eclipse plus the day of Winter solstice. Last time this coincidence was for 400 years ago :)
Can't wait! Thanks for the hard work Santa Ton and BF!
Thanks for keeping us updated and thanks for the hard work. Don't forget to have a rest pause though :-)

The date isn't a mixup ;-) I received this report yesterday, and the meetings are always on Sundays, not on Tuesdays. It's just a week old..
Regarding an SCM viewer, are you guys looking for something that's read-only? If so, it should be reasonably simple to either grab something ready made or implement something by just having a script (or use WebDAV) print the contents in the repository and just style it with whatever templating system is available.
This one is rather popular:
http://www.websvn.info/
I did a browser like that with the combination of Apache hosting SVN over WebDAV, XSLT for transforming the xml to something that makes more sense in a browser view and then just plain ol' html/css to get the styling going. I can send you the code if you're interested, I just have to find it first! Using WebDAV means you either have to make sure you get the permissions right or use it as a mirror of some other repo.
I've also started work on a SCM viewer for Mercurial. It's very much a WIP but the first pre-alpha can be seen here:
https://dev.gimlet.se/hg
Again though, that's Mercurial, not svn. It should also be noted that at the moment, it's really not made for any other browser than Safari (although Chrome probably works too).
no meeting this week?
"Dalai proposes to replace the ancient built-in vector font with a more modern (and official free) one. We can even include a couple? Waiting for proposal…"
I'd have to agree with this. I've always thought the current font looked cheap and archaic. A better looking font would go a long way toward getting newcomers to accept Blender as serious software.
Yeah !
a new vector would be great, old font is ugly.
maybe vera sans ? is not the sexiest font but isopen source.

Excellent. Looking forward to it.
Implying a modern font being a non-vector font is really off... I must be missing info from your stack...
As for fonts, I'd suggest Libel Suit http://www.1001fonts.com/font_details.html?font_id=3054
Or anything by Ray Larabie... I'm sure he'd be open to the idea he's been creating free fonts for ever.
Very high quality fonts.
Oh just saw Coolvetica looks like a great standard font also by Ray Larabie.

try out the fonts using the preview function.. type in Blender.
@TweakingKnobs
Vera Sans is missing quite a lot of glyphs for many languages. You probably wanted to say "DejaVu Sans" instead ;-)
I am excited to blender next year!!!!
I like this "archaic" font in Blender. So I really hope it will be replaceble. Is it about the system's font (UI), am I right?
Guys guys!! what do you think in making a google app for the new "web store"? I mean, making a blender for the browser!!! take a look at this, I know this can be posibble and can be a great oportunity to make google grown up! https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/algoakekcdmbbikdjgjdahbfihboglmi?hl=en-US
I am excited. thank you to you.
