I'm proud to present my personal project i've been working in between jobs, little by little since 2008. I don't know how many time will take to finish it, but by now it's online with two of 21 shorts finished.

Vacui Spacii | Empty Spaces

21 words; triggers feelings. Empty spaces begin to fill with sounds and images to be reframed. This project is a collaboration between the music composer Nikila (France) and the artist Martín Eschoyez (Argentina), and documents the completion of 21 short films being made in 3d Open Source software (blender) with video, images, source files and soundtracks released under Creative Commons licenses.

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

    Congrats on your efforts.
    IMHO, it is one of the most interesting works presented here.
    Conceptually powerful, interesting and inspiring.

    And I see you got better synchronization in part III than in part II, so you're evolving.

    Beautiful visuals.

    The music unfortunately is just some overly precious electronic sh*t from early 2000s. Sounds like a cheap rip-off of Aphex Twin with no soul and just random interference and artsy analog quitar samples. Dime a dozen. Not good at all.

    I'm doing it without order. i choose randomly, listening to the wonderful soundtracks.

    The music IS NOT what you say, but a big effort and internal journey from another artist, and with a lot of soul.
    Sad for you that you can't reach that :(
    But, having the sources uploaded, you'll have the opportunity to make some interesting music to remix or re-create the concepts you like! ;)

    Very nice music :-)
    I also like the animations, but I think they could be better synchronized with the music. It might be an artifact of palying it over the web, though...
