Construct a ‘Microcosm’ Using Blender 2.5
In this four-part video tutorial, Frederik Steinmetz constructs a ‘Microcosm’ animation. He covers all aspects: modeling & rigging, particles & hair, lighting & texturing and finally rendering and compositing.

This is definitely appreciated, good stuff!
welldone :)
Excellent!…well done!
very nice. thank you
While the effort was appreciated, unfortunately the execution left a bit to be desired. The author would have done well to spend more time getting acquainted with the particle system beforehand. I think there were several probably more effective particle physics techniques such as Grids and Boids that weren’t even mentioned. Is the author just stuck in the one technique he has become comfortable with?
The tutorial came across as a rather sloppy and ad-hoc presentation. If someone goes to all the trouble of making a tutorial, then that person should know what to show and discuss ahead of time. Write a script. Record and edit your video. Add dialog to explain your step by step process. Blender crashes? So what? Plan and edit accordingly. We don’t need the play by play. Making things up as one goes along shows poor planning. Even a tutorial can show off one’s production skills. Never go public with an “unfinished” product!
Just what I was looking for. It helped me! And the result is really nice. Thank you!
