I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

  1. Title is misleading imho. I was waiting for a link or info that would magically give me Pablo's skills lol.
    Lovely theme btw!

  2. i remember a while back, a few years ago actually, i found a theme for blender it was all greys, blues, and it was like a soft smoky type look, i didnt even know blender supported themes, for some reason my pc didnt like it though, shame though it was a really nice sheme, if anyone can recall anything like that id really appreciate it

  3. Great theme, and thanks for sharing. It should be noted that at the moment, you can't share themes without accepting all of the user defaults attached to the startup .blend file.

  4. Didn't like it.
Some things are to hard to see...
Some things are to dark, some are not finished... etc...

Imho, its to hard on the eyes.

  5. Looks like it would go perfectly with my current Xubuntu desktop theme. ;) I'm going to load it up and have a look around.

However, from a more practical side, I find the current trend towards darker backgrounds in the 3D window annoying. Sure, they do look way cool, but I find the scene with lit objects on dark ground much harder to read at a glance than dark wireframes on a light background.

  6. Cool thanks for sharing the theme Pablo. If you like that much about the theme Fable Fox just change the 3d grid and background.

Theme them reminds me of Batman/Dark Knight a bit.

    Very dark and serious.

I will still need Pablo's skills now.

  7. That's silly ! i like clear theme, dark theme has to be contrasted as well ! but we see that it's need so much work to make a new theme...thanks pablo ! more theme are coming up...before the 2.6 release...

one question, i was unable to import my theme from 2.54 to 2.55, will it be like that for the next 2.5x version ?

  8. just like Freemind : too dark for me.
BTW, I wonder why lots of video related interfaces (Blender; After effect/Mocha/ Premiere) are so dark ? is it a contest ??

I understand that grey is better than white for the eye, but why so dark grey ??
I even find the base theme of Blender (2.5x series) too dark in a way.
Yes, I miss the very soft pre-2.5x series Blender theme :)

  9. Weird thing I cant seem to get the importing of my keymap to work when i use this theme. It's weird that i can see some of the keymaps are mapped correctly in user prefs but they don't work when i actually invoke them.

Just thought I should say that.

  10. Too dark for me too. I even had to lighten up the default Blender 2.5 3D view background. I think medium greyish shades are the easiest on the eyes, but that's my "optics" :)
What is the gfx world coming to? Some sort of Dark Ages? ;)
