Cause of War, Game Arts created with Blender

Cause of War is a turn-based 3D game for PC. Modeling and animations were done in Blender. Its producer Robin Flodin tells us that they also made some Blender tutorials on their website.

Robin Flodin writes:

My name is Robin And I'm the producer of Cause of War (working title) a turn-based tactics game for the PC. It's a Full 3d title where models normalmaps and animation have been done in blender. The game is signed by the UK publisher Slitherine and will be out in about 6-8 month's time. I was thinking you might want to post about the project. We also (when we have time) try to make some Tutorials from what we lerned. More info can be found at Cause of War website.

  1. Looks good!

Turning and acceleration of the characters should be interpolated by the game engine and the environment looks random at it current state.

Other than that i believe this game will be great if you put in the right effort!

  2. aaaaouuummmm...
    I nearly fell asleep there...
    Next post ?
    Pfff there is none...
    I have got an idea!!!!
What don't you call you game : Cause of Sleep!

  3. Isn't it lucky you saw the video and discovered that the game isn't to your tastes and you can leave it to other people to enjoy.

  4. This is why the world is so messed up, all the violent video games are training people how to kill, and have fun doing it.

  5. Slightly off topic (sorry).

@TLOZ, I wanted to check out the website link from your name. The site url is so I was interested, but the page comes up with an error " Diese Seite ist leider nicht mehr verfügbar, Fehler 404. Sorry, this page is not available any more, error 404. Contact service provider".

Is this temporary, if not, you may wish to stop putting the URL with your posts.

If it is coming back, cool, always looking for cool wallpapers.

  6. Hey,

The looks are there, but I think it's missing something. It's a war game, so you need music, something techno-like. You should listen to the music of "red alert 2" that's one of the things I loved most about that game...

For now, it looked quite boring, I don't know if you already have other characters, maybe some tanks. I would definitely add some buildings you can control. Pretty much all of the regular stuff that's in all of those games, like "avidthrows" already said: "blender needs more mainstream things like this."

It looks great already; it's just a matter of adding lots of stuff, so keep on blending!!!

  7. Hey!

Great effort! Hope Zeal Game Studios and Causes of War works out for you.

Just wondering how many of the critics on the forum have actually attempted to make rather than just play games. It's tougher than it looks and when you have a limited budget even more so!

  8. Love all the comments(good or bad XD)!

There is still lots of things left before the game is done! music and sound is one of them :). We hope to show that blender is as awesome as we know it is! If you have things you want to comment on we are glad to c u in our forums or blog comments.
