I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

  1. Wow!!! Now that was a brave thing to do, but you did REALLY well!!

    You have an amazing voice!

Jan Morgenstern. if you're reading this, take up the challenge of making this a full MP3 for us!!

  2. Worst BlenderNation post yet. And what has this got to do with Blender? I can appreciate crude but stylized 3D animations, rambling tutorials, how-tos about other 3D software, but this has absolutely nothing to do with Blender. Unless this is some advanced Fool's Day joke.

  3. @differentsmoke
Clearly this smoke is not for you. You need a different smoke. :)
    @Not Blender
Why do you bother? It's Not about Blender, so it's right for you :)

  4. Oh I think it is realy easy to figure out what it has to do with Blender: She sings one song which is from the Sintel Soundtrack... Sintel is done with Blender...

To be honest: I really liked it...

@Not Blender, you win this years post for most irrelevant post on the Blender website.

I think your first sentence was a rhetorical one, in that you were actually referring to what you where about to share with us, in you sebsequent rantings.

    Please take you comments elsewhere

    regards all

    TFS

  6. Very Cool voice weetweet!

I also love that song from the Sintel movie... I can't wait until they release the soundtrack! :D

Maybe for the next open movie, they count on you for the singing heh ;)

  7. Awesome =) Nice to see Jan getting his stuff out there too, it's a great song he put together. As an animator on the film, we were humming the tune almost every day when Jan gave us the first mix.

weetweet1987: great voice thanks for choosing this song! I was just in the UK to visit a friend of mine (also a teacher), and it seems there's a great 'teacher by day musician by night' culture, very cool. Also ignore the anonymous internet haters on here, they can be a little disrespectful and one minded about the program used to make the film ;)

  8. @Lee/LohnS
thanks for your comment, I don't really mind "bad" comments so that's fine. First of all everybody has different preferences so if someone doesn't like it, well he doesn't ^^
secondly I didn't put my video on Blendernation, the only thing I did was singing a song I liked, full stop. So If people argue that this has nothing to do with Blender I apologise lol, but really, I'm not responsible for that :p

  9. Beautiful song, incredible singer (a piece of art, right ?). Anyway, keep up the good job !
For all the people that doesn't understand why such a video is posted here, first : it worth it, and second, when you develop an animation, maybe you would like to put a song on it, and now you have the contact of a singer who could do it great.
    weetweet, you rule !
    Gros bisous plein ! :)

  10. I'd say that considering the circumstances that was a *great* performance! :-)
The quality of the recording was really lousy (perhaps less than 64kbps) but the quality of your signing (esp the softness of your voice) made up for that.
