Implemented a new "super knife". Activate with k. Holding CTRL will allow extended cutting ala old lines mode. Confirm with enter and escape. You cannot cancel, btw, you can only confirm (and undo later if you want). Hopefully I'll support undo within the tool soon.
- Supports cutting edges, into faces, etc. You can pretty much do whatever you want. Will snap to vertices too.
- Note that if you cut into a face, it must be valid topologically when you press enter to confirm.
- It's pretty and graphical :)
- You can only cut visible geometry.
- UVs/vcols are a little buggy still
Now, thou shalt all cease and desist all lack of motivation for
testing! No longer shall users put off testing until "it's cooler"!

Joe this is so awesome I feel like to cry. I have learned to live without Bmesh thus far.
But this new commit would bring a whole new level to blender art wise as modeling things
become a little less labor intensive.
This is excellent work and I'm sure those that have been following your blog
will have renewed commitment to you(money wise too :)).

Nice feature, but where is a Bug tracker for Feedback?? (8lender official bugtracker doesn't seems to have any bmesh bug repots, but maybe is just me, since i can't search it) and the previous bugtracker provided by another Blender dev seems offline.

wow... thats really cool :) now there is the time, where I can throw Silo into a box and forget about it (sad that it's not developed further :( )...
the problem with this is that the bmesh branch is useless at the moment. You can't export to obj. you can't load the blend file to the main blender branch.
if only the exports and imports were atleast functional many people will be motivated to test this thoroughly.

I've seen a bunch of posts nay saying Bmesh in the past, but I want you know there are a lot of us out here who really appreciate all of your hard work. What I want is the old knife cut that allows you to constrain the cut between two vertices. Now THAT was useful.

Great tool!!! when will be integrated ?, and can it do subdivide in a edge without affecting the faces? I only see demos whith cutting tools
This looks almost exactly like what I would like to see. I'll have to give it a try myself when 2.6 is available.
Can it be made to work with lasso or box selection? Being able to just sweep the mouse over specific intersecting edges of planks, boxes or pipes and instantly generate joined vertices would be a real time saver. Modeling intersecting ceiling beams and rafters would be an absolute breeze this way, combining the ease of use of a single knife cut with the instant results of a boolean join.
