Blender classes in National School of Architecture in Grenoble, France

9

Matthieu Dupont de Dinechin tells us about his 3rd Blender training for the students of National School of Architecture of Grenoble in France. His course is about free form conceptional buildings. The event is currently going on, started monday september 13th and finishes friday september 17th.

The PDF has a few of interesting arts and a lot of screen shots, I think they are useful even I can't read French.

Matthieu Dupont de Dinechin writes:

My name is Matthieu Dupont de Dinechin (viralata on Blenderartists). For the third time, I'm giving a 5 days intensive training on Blender to 5th year students of the National School of Architecture of Grenoble in France. This course is giving to the students basic knowledge about Blender with a design approach : I try to teach them how to use Blender tools to give life to their ideas and concepts directly in 3D.  By modeling free forms of conceptual buildings, I try to show them that 3D tools are much more than rendering tools for architects, and can be used to sketch designs directly in 3D. By the way, this approach makes them enjoy and have fun, but I still teach them basic knowledge on most tools they will have to use in their professional works.

This year I teach them Blender 2.54, an I can already confirm you that the learning curve is easier and the first impression far better !

You can find on my site some pictures of the type of forms we make, and the PDF that I give them (65 pages, in French :-D ).

  1. True, 2.54 IS by far easier for beginners.

I´m Teaching Blender classes in the old renown School of Graphics in Copenhagen / Denmark (earlier - Den Grafiske Højskole) and they seem to accellerate much more than last year, which is a very positive sign.

  2. wow, these architectural forms look very good.
There are some interesting tutorials on the website.
I am going to implement some tools for architectural creation in my CADtools script and make Blender even more interesting for architecture students.

  3. I am looking for a class in Grenoble that teaches building architectural models in English. I graduated not in Architecture but in Interior Architecture. I need to refresh my skills for a new job. Is it possible to join this class?
