As the first post in my new blog, I decided to cover, to the greatest extent possible, my knowledge regarding multilayer SSS in Blender. I not only outline a new node-tree technique using a colored SSS map, but have also posted a .blend with the complete shader, including all texture maps.
The post can be found here.

Thanks!
You have quite an interesting idea, I'm going to try this method. Thank you for making this great post!
That is all kinds of disturbing, but really cool :D
I loled pretty hard when I saw that pic of Suzanne.
...quite disturbing, and funny.
Nice!
Now this is a pro way to do it! and it looks amazing!!
And also nicely explained too!!
that Suzanne is really creepy..
I read, and then re-read that 3 times. It was interesting every time. Thanks.
Okay, that image of Suzanne will follow me in my dreams forever.
Nice tut!
Suzanne looks weird as hell. But the tips on that blog are awesome... the results are impressive.
Suzanne with a realistic skin is frightening!
OMG, that's the creepiest Suzanne I've ever seen O.o
But the Skin is great :)
She's not "frightening" with realistic skin, she just falls into the uncanny Sally.... erm, valley.
Okay, that's my official name for Skinned Suzanne... it's the real Suzanne's sister, Uncanny Sally.
Problem with Click to Edit today... freezes without loading the quote or enabling the save/cancel buttons.
awesome
lol!! suzanne is indeed creepy but the tut is great!
That Suzanne is creepy. I want to reach out to my screen and touch it, but I'm afraid of what it might do if I disturb it.
Creepy Susanne :)
AAAAH! DEMON! KILL IT! KILL IT WITH FIRE!
*cough* Great tutorial!
Yeah, Suzanne looks kinda creepy with realistic skin, but awesome tutorial! Thank you!
Not Creepy Suzanne -- her official name shall be Uncanny Salley. Spelled with an "ey" at the end of Sally, S-A-L-L-E-Y.
It cannot be anything else!
Awesome!
Amazzziiinnnggg.....what a unique talent..:)
Great techniques! I can't wait to get starting on this tomorrow!!

Suzanne's face transplant is an undeniable success!
The links are broken...
One thing that pisses me off is I really use GPU a ton because of the speed, but GPU in Blender does not support SSS in cycles. So how the hell can you get that kind of skin, unless you go to CPU and that sucks in terms of production time...
