Reynante Martinez has published 4 very impressive detailed particle tutorials that cover if not everything you need to know about particle system. From getting start with basic parameters for both hair and emitter, into creating advance effect like fire and disintegration of mesh object. He also gave the blend files!

Hey! Reyn is my kababayan! Great job on the tuts. Currently reading it ^_^
Good screen shots. That helps a lot when trying to find the right button for the job.
Sounds cool :D I will check in the morning.
Hmm and how make disintegration effect in 2.50?
I don't see any particle attributes settings in mapping?
Not yet implemented?
Cheers ;]
Don't see it either...
I always sucked with particles, so i'll definitely check this out.
Thanks for sharing!
I love the New Blender 2.5
But I´m learning few new things here and there...How to Import a AI file into Blender 2.5?
Thanks Leo
WOW THANKS!! love the desintegration one!
Great tutorials! Just in time :D
Thanks, everyone! I must admit though, the title is a bit confusing, as I did also introduce some 2.49 concepts on the tutorials. But I'm hoping you'll find it helpful still. Have fun!

Love it! Thank you so much for making it pure text (not video)!
Would be nice if someone compilied PDFs.
Nice !
good non-video tuts
especially for people with low internet output
can be compiled in pdfs but i don't know if scroll bars would work on such format????
...got a question... how do I make the particles appears according to the blend texture in Blender 2.53? Like in the disintegration tutorial
Jonathan: As of this writing, I believe there's no way yet to do that in 2.5*, too bad I think. But let's just wait, probably it's now in development (with something better on the way). Another thing that's lacking in 2.5 is Particle Reactor support.
Cheers.
to bad that the 2.5 particle system does not have some very essencial tools such as reactor and others.
Hey guys, don't cry that it is not there YET
It's in development because some topics are being viewed from another angle (litterally translation of dutch expression).
I mean that because of the API changes some parts of the program are still subject of change.
honestly, I have no iea what API means or stands for but I read this information on blender.org :D
Grtz Cedal
Cedal: Good to hear that. Btw, API stands for Application Programming Interface. :)
