Introduction to Smoke Simulation in Blender 2.5

10

cg tuts+ have published a two-part videotutorial on Smoke effects in Blender 2.5. They write:

In this invaluable, in-depth series we’ll be taking a look at smoke and fire simulation techniques within Blender 2.5, and who better to take us through this process than the man behind the official documents himself, Gottfried Hofmann. Prepare to be amazed at just what Blender can do for free.

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

  1. Thank you for a very informative Tutorial on the fire/smoke simulator in blender. The fire looked very good.

As a bit of advice though, I think that with your next tutorial, you have what you want to say clearly written down and just read from the manuscript. I say this as it was rather hard to follow at times because of everything being ad-lib. English is clearly not easy for you, Which is no problem, but, just to avoid the down time while you try to get the thought together, a pre-made script would make the experience for the listener a much better experience. Just a thought...:)

In any case, I think that you have a great talent and I would love to see more from you in the future.
