Remember Dr. Grordbort’s Raygun Shootout Competition? Design crazy steampunk machines in Blender, win a trip to New Zealand, meet famous people etc.? Well, they're still at it - this month everyone's working on rocketships!
Cassie Merrick writes:
WE MUST HAVE MORE ROCKETSHIPS!
We are still running short on interplanetary transportation devices to transport our men to the battlegrounds of planet Venus.
As a result Dr.Grordbort has decided to extend this month’s competition so we can get more vessels to transport our troops.
So the ‘Design a 1920’s Rocketship’ competition will now come to a rousing close on July the 31st 2010.Our fellow comrades Blender Cookie are so fond of our wee competition that they have decided to offer some spot prizes for us to give away. So now in addition to our current prizes, we have the following to give away:
- One 2010 Blender Training Series
But wait, there's more! We also have the following to give away:
- A 30 Day Citizen Membership
- A 90 Day Citizen Membership
- A One Year Citizen Membership

wow this sounds cool I like rockets!
I remember seeing the announcement on the site some months ago.
I only checked the site out of curiosity for the raygun contest and found there was a rocket contest.
And then I forgot all about it.
Ahem.
I thought the raygun contest was a "one shot" thing(no pun intended). Maybe other people thought so.
Just a suggestion for future contests :
Dr. Grordbort should enroll in the Blender's Unofficial Reviews & Propaganda Service (or B.U.R.P.S.) to reach more people and mobilize them for the Venusian war.
--"If they relay the announcement through Blendernation and BlenderArtist they would reach more people."--
Boohoo - I already live in NZ and Weta are in my hometown. Id like the Blendercookie subscription though. Great resource that.
