  1. HEY ITS ME AGAIN!!!!!!
Well, I must admit my last post did have some spelling mistakes. And no I had not taken my medicine (:))as was asked by MadTurtle. In fact I am still ROFL from all of the comments about my post( which I suggest you all read). But anyways I’m sorry about my rash move though it was pretty early in the morning and I didn’t know that the video was a script. Of course, now that I know, the video is awesome!!!!!
    Well happy blending!!!!:)
    PS AWESOME SONG

  2. Great vid, I remember I watched a video somewhere in blender shop that had this same techniques but explained in more details for each step. Don't really remember what video it was, but I suppose it was from the same guy.

A "making of" as greenboy suggest would be great :)

  3. The animation is unsolid! Too much swinging in the movement!
    The camera is poor too!
With this fighting technique Sintel beats the guards?? Never!!
I hope this is not part of the film!

  4. @fmw Hey, just because your parents beat you constantly as a child, doesn't mean you have to rain on someone's parade every chance you get. Chill man chill.

  5. Good work guys. Nice Step by step.
I like the swinging at the end because it adds more realism to the animation. LIke the body is stabilizing after the strength the she puts into the movement.
THanks a lot for sharing. I would love to see more breakdowns like this.

  6. @fmw: As soon as I notice when I'm directing and spitting on the screen of one of my animators is enough, then your reply gets meaning and even reason..., please try to change your goal...

  7. Well, I am afraid that fmw is right.
In a shot like this the tip of the weapon, its arc, is quite important and that swing is totally not intended to hurt! It's all over, not aimed. So unless the character is not an experienced fighter it does not make sense.
It's hard sometimes to tell if a shot is good on its own. Myself I do not know much about this project and the story and what this shot is about? All it tells me is that she does not know how to swing with aim. If that is the intention then it got the message through.
    ;-)

    Cheers!

  8. Made the force be with you on that one guys & girl (but where is she?)
Can someone tell me where is Angela?

  9. Hey guys thanks for the great comments.

fmw: yep its in the film, too bad haha. but trust me in context this shot works beautifully, no need to worry. It's possible wiliam willl do a camera pass yet, as we take colins 'layout' camera and animate to it, adding details after and sometimes angle changes if need be.

Cheers guys for all the support, we'll make something wonderful the whole community can be proud of =)

  10. Is this Sintel mesh and rig all your own creation? I'm fascinated by how the first animations just used a puppet with a human face, then added a shape-keyed mesh. Will you be sharing this mesh and rig?

  11. @Zinc Chameleon,

Since Sintel is an open movie all content will be available (as was done in the prior open movies created by the blender foundation). That includes the mesh and rigging for Sintel.
