  1. Bart: Don't know what plugin you installed, but can't edit comments anymore.. I get a hovering window that has a loading animation in the center (and a close button on lower right), while everything else is dimmed out and nothing really happens :P

  2. Hmm... t worked for me (obviously) and still does...
The thing with no visible time bugged me too. I'm not sure, I didn't watch when I started and finished, but I think, it's a little over 10 mins...

  3. I cannot watch the video!!.. I ve just downloaded the latest version of flash player, but still no video, neither in firefox, nor IE, nor chrome... it´s something about the player because the same happens to me with the video section in the economist page (http://ideas.economist.com/content/video). Some ideas?!

    thanks!

I'm reading a book on the history of Pixar and Ed Catmull at the moment. Brilliant reading, what a studio. They have the best of the best. Catmull's biography makes interesting reading, he's achieved so much.

  5. Wow that is some interesting stuff now if only game companies worked the same way then we would get allot more spectacular games being released rather than a boatload of crap with a few gems in-between.

  6. If you wait long enough, you will be rewarded. I suspect you are put into a queue of people trying to view and there are a limited number of streaming connections allowed.

Thanks for posting this, very inspirational.

The guy is brilliant, and humble, to say the least. If you can't get enough of him in the above video, then here is a youtube link of him addressing a group of MBA grad students at Stanford:

It is around 50 minutes, but well worth it. If you have read Jim Collins book, "Good to Great", there are a lot of parallels to his ideas of success and failure and other successful companies.

  8. I used to work with a company with the same mindset. However when the investors get nervous and want work done the "old fashion" way to increase profits then everything nice and dandy goes to hell. Lesson to learn: don't make your company public! cough - Disney - cough.

All the best to pixar though.

  9. That was a great interview. The presenter asked all the right questions and actually let the guest speak.

It was interesting to hear how they fire people if they can't work in a team, regardless of their skill. That's a very important lesson for me.

  10. In addition to my weak understanding of spoken english, audio is so bad. A good thing anyway to see this kind of info in Blendernation!

  11. I really enjoyed that. Thanks so much for posting it.
The timing is great as I'm just finishing up reading The Pixar Touch by David A Price, an excellent book that offers an inside look at Pixar's story. Finding balance never looks so vital.

  12. Thank you quite considerably for that complete information.I agree with all the factors pointed out right here and noticed all your essential points. I hope it's going to help people.I used to be little bit conscious about it but your publish gave me distinct thought.
