Sorry - didn´t have time ! I believe this will be an intresting sprint with great results. Turn Durian into an real community projekt . Good luck to any one .
Sorry not sure where to post this. But how come Blender does not have the right mouse click sensitive menu. And where is the shortcut to change the manipulator mode (e.g. transform, scale, rotate)?

@young_voter: The best place would be the BlenderArtists forums--keep it in mind in the future as it is a great resource. You can also search on Google for: differences between Blender and . Or something like that.
To answer your question, that is because that is just not how blender works. In the Blender 3D window, left-click is place-mouse-cursor, and right-click is select-object. All operations are done from the menus or keyboard shortcuts. If you are using Blender 2.5, press the space bar (with the mouse cursor in the 3D window) for a list of tools.
The manipulator selection is at the bottom of the 3D window (a hand in 2.49, a set of axes in 2.5) next to a box that selects whether movement is local/global/etc. However, it is a much better habit to use Blender's transformation shortcut keys (g-grab, s-scale, r-rotate, e-extrude, etc.). It is much faster and easier to use.
@young_voter: To elaborate on what Anon said, shift+a opens the menu in any version of blender, and spacebar works in 2.49 and older. There are also other menus you can find. If I were you, I would look at some tutorials for blender. Blender noob to pro is pretty good for learning the basics.
