I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

  1. Very exciting! And the voice talent is REALLY good. That short segment really breathed some life into all of the concept art and blocking scenes we've seen.

Voice and soundtrack is very important(in my opinion 50%),
example scary movie if you turn sound off some case it will go to comedy movie.

  3. "The sound and music are 50% of the entertainment in a movie" - George Lucas

I'm really looking forward to this. Also, will there be a game project of some kind with it? It seems that Sintel lends itself really well to a game setting...

    Greenlig

  4. Love it,
I am already very impressed with the voice talent. And I do agree that sound and music is a very essential part of the film that cannot be overlooked. I am glad you guys have focused on finding these fantastic actors to do the acting!

    Well Done all,
and thanks for all the hard work you put in.

AFAIK they're not doing a game project this time around. At least, not in tandem with Durian. Perhaps they can be convinced to make a game after they've finished the movie?

  6. Oh noooo no no noooooo. Ton has a bald spot.
On another note, I was very afraid for a repeat of a Elephants Dream like dialogue. In this case the actors are delivering a stellar peformance.

Damn, my man is going bald.....

  7. Hahah ahah yay1
lol I feel like a little kid jumping up and down because his favorite show is come.

They sound great to me. Although if I had to critique I'd say the guy could have made his voice sound a little older for the shaman and the woman could have added just a little teenage angst to her voice. lol nah I'm just kidding. I can't wait to hear more. :3

  8. I like the voices. Its intresting to see how acters are working in a front of a microphone.
Yes sound and music are important, but first: you tell a story!! Thats the importants part by making a movie.

  9. Where are their accents? Not that I mind understanding every word.
I agree with Xero, they should act their age! I'm sure they'll get a good feel for the characters.
I like the sneak peeks, but this was too short. ;.(

  10. Great sequence, and good voices.

Just a technical request : Please, could you use Vimeo instead of YouTube ? YouTube videos are so slow to load on my system !

I hope the speech track will come split form the others in the DVD secion... In the case someone would do an Italian (or another language) version.

    Great work however!!!

  12. hmmm, not really impressed with voices. In my unprofessional opinion the shaman didn't sound too shamany like. Not bad, but just thinking maybe it could be better.

  13. I too was not very impressed with the voices but only when the movie is out will i be able to see if it all fit together ;)

Oh and i think it is spell Reijn
