@Brad: A sssoooo friendly comment. OSA at 8, i sure could go 16. I'm rendering in 1080p and final result is viewed in 720p. Renderings are already quite long and youtube don't help so... well sorry, i'll kill myself as soon as possible. ^^

Nicely done. There's nothing like a good short. Love the rain effect. I think you nailed it.
Great rain effect - and funny story. But were does the aliasing on the fish's edge come from? Did you render the fishes with alpha-background and then overlay them over the background?
Anyway, is there a chance for a little rain-tutorial - you seem to be the master of rain!
I kinda like the credits being in the middle. It helps to separate the jokes.

i think the aliasing come from the auto-resize of youtube (and vimeo too) from 1080p to 720p. In the full size rendering, the aliasing is softer. i'll try resize the video myself for the next time to see if it's better.
The rain was made by Sozap (remember, the other name in the credits ^^) for an other short and we applied it to this episode. Tutorial coming, maybe :).

(graphist point of view, re-think the credit page, smaller readable typo looks always better / Point de vue de graphiste juste revoir la page "générique", typo plus petite = plus classe && plus lisible !)
edit : comment de zicos, je suis pas fan de l'effet sur les voix, ptet un truc un peu plus subtil et trouver des potes pour faire des voix différentes ? (mais tout ça c'est juste pour chinoiser, c'est déjà bien classe)
yep, in fact it's gonna be small and on only one screen (because... well... people don't care :D). If you're french you probably know "avez vous déjà vu". i'll do something like that.
Concernant les voix, en fait je préfère pas dépendre de qui que ce soit parce que je vais déménager bientôt et que j'aurai pu forcément les mêmes acteurs sous la main. Je suis en train de chercher (en ce moment même) un modificateur de voix qui marche vraiment bien (là je fais qu'un pitch shift et ça suffit pas). Malheureusement je trouve rien de grandiose, y compris dans les trucs bien cher. En tout cas je cherche :)

I'm not sure if your being sarcastic or not but that was the joke as almost a continuation of the first episode where he lights a cigarette and is smoking underwater.

I know your developement série and i thinks it's really good.
the aliasing is really bad (you see it when you maximise the window. I think it's possible with Lens focal Nodes (eu le flou focal). to "evite" that you can place à plan behind the caractere OR you can dipplicate the effet and affect the Alpha chanel ..per haps..
bon, je le dis en français sinon on comprends rien :
j'ai eu ce type de crénelage avec l'utilisation du flou focal et réussi à le faire disparaitre en jouant sur 2 possibilités :
> placer un plan derrière le personnage
> ajouter l'effet flou focal au canal alpha ..

Really cute! I love the concepts.
The 'aliasing' is due to the H.264 encoding YouTube and Vimeo use. Said encoding uses 4:2:0 chroma subsampling which can be noticed especially at the edges of red areas. And since the fishes are red and the background is blue the effect is very strong :(
