I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

will try this one
funny the last tut about lattices i saw said "this could be used to animate a heart" and someone actually goes out and does it *shakes head*. the tire tut is far better and much more in depth.
@lame: You're right, I think it was the modeling a pumpkin on Blender Cookie, because I remember that too. I guess he took that side note to heart. (Pardon the pun)
The tutorial was okay. I learned a few things that might be helpful later on down the road, but I think it could have gone into more detail.
Thanks for sharing this. It seems kind of difficult to find tutorials that are specifically for Blender 2.49.
