The February workshop will be held in addition to the Summer 2010 workshops in June and July.

The Ott Planetarium has conducted five Blender workshops since 2008. Students in the most recent workshop, at the 2009 Mediaglobe Users Group Conference in Hickory, NC, collaborated to produce Sizing Up Space, an open source planetarium show.

The Ott Planetarium, located in Ogden, Utah, has been in operation since 1969. In 2005, the planetarium began producing original fulldome content. Ott Planetarium staff have been conducting Blender-based workshops since 2008.

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

We have to pay for our people, venue, snacks, and equipment. This is actually on par with similar trainings for other software packages.
