suzanne-awards-2009A team of no less than four five people worked on this year's Suzanne Awards: Bassam Kurdali, Kursad Karatas, Jarred De Beer, Pablo Vazquez and Jan Morgenstern. Bassam writes about the creative process of the production.

Hi Blendernationers!

I just made a quick blog about the suzanne awards intro animation, it includes a (heavily truncated) making of, screenshots, images, video, and the final intro video. Could be fun, especially for those who haven't seen the awards.

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

Very impressive. By the way, does somebody know where to download the recorded presentations of the conference or when it will be online?

  2. Pablo was awesome! I don't know many people who would come in Jetlagged from a flight from Argentina, then put in a 24 hour marathon like that. And you realize how good he is, not just artistically, but also technically.
And he did actually play "the final countdown" from Europe towards the end )
btw, I updated the post with links to the team's websites, and some screenies of comps.
