Austrian-based game studio Rarebyte just released its latest iPhone game Lemming Rampage.

Catapult a cute lemming into the air and fly through a lot of different levels by using bouncing trampolines, rocket-propelled jetpacks and accelerometer air control! Use Timeshift(tm) to manipulate time and correct your flight path.

Become a godly aeronaut with your longest flights and send your lemmings to the Lemming Heaven, a highscore list containing lemmings from players all over the world. Unlock 12 unique levels, 18 different lemming skins and grow your lemming world as you are awarded with bronze, silver and gold medals.

Features at a glance:

  • Unlock up to 18 lemming skins
  • Show your skills in 12 levels in 7 stages
  • Control your flight path via accelerometer
  • Manipulate the time when something goes wrong by using Timeshift(tm)
  • When your lemming dies, send it to Lemming Heaven (Global Highscores)
  • Experience realtime physics
  • Be rewarded with achievements
  • Pilot your lemming to hit funny objects (trampoline, jetpack, ...)
  • Avoid scary obstacles such as spikes or abyss
  • Do not avoid those scary obstacles to see what happens...

Blender was used for modeling, texturing and animation throughout the whole
project, which is powered by Unity 3d.

Rarebyte has already released other games that used Blender and the SIO2
engine:

To thank Blender and its community, we have decided to give away 5 promo codes for Lemming Rampage here on BlenderNation. Sent us an email to [email protected] if you want to play it for free!

Disclaimer: I received a promo-code for this game, too - after I told Rainer we'd publish this.

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

  1. to clear up the confusion. we used blender and unity 3d to create lemming rampage (which is our latest game) and blender and sio2 to create black sheep, white mouse and ipentris.

the second and third picture in the first row shows the blend file setup of black sheep for sio2. all other screenshots are from lemming rampage.

  2. After a couple of minutes I was kinda annoyed by the game and thought it was kinda stupid - but I'll admit that I was an idiot and didn't get it- now I get it! and its actually really awesome - the timeshift feature is clever. At first I thought it was annoying that you can't pan across the whole level but since you have timeshift you don't really need too.

Well done on this - I've only been playing for ten minutes and you've made me swear and laugh so well done! I'll give you longer review in the app store. I emailed you this morning - but wanted to play so I bought it.

    Well done again -

    miff

if anyone is curious on game play I could post a video or something.
