An *extensive* video tutorial teaching you how to create your own Manga Character.
Karan Shah writes:
Creating a 3d character that is equipped to be animated is one of the most challenging things you can do in CG, and to make matters worse, it has always been equally challenging to find any comprehensive tutorials on the entire workflow. Well not any more! In this 7 video long, intermediate to advanced level tutorial series, professional Blender artist, Karan Shah, will walk you through the complete creation process of a ready to animate video game character. From modeling, to UVs and texturing, to adding the final mesh topology for deformation, this series is a must see for any Blender character artist!

This is fantastic! I've needed something like this! Thank you so much!
Dang! I was working on a manga character today!!! Blender Nation can SEE INTO THE FUTURE!
Heh hhehh, this is good, going to have to change the way I am approaching a lot of my movies now, which is a pretty good thing really
Keep us up to date with the further chapters please
it's not recomendable for a newcomer to follow this tutorial. It has good and usefull things, allright, but also have lots of bad topology habits.
I recommend better the making of johnny Blender. Just search it in youtube. Also the work of paul caggegi (the process diary), and the cg cookie tutorials available.
(just my opinion, off course)
Wathever, the model look nice anyway.
Ahh! The video take so much cpu power in my laptop. I can't view it without problems.
Topology is at times overrated.
When a mesh is textured who is going to see your perfect topology?
Any clean and simple topology is fine as long as it looks good with texture and it deforms well when animated.
;)
Always love Karans tutorials, Very straight forward approach and cool results for blendernewbs like me !
Appreciate the tutorials and linkage here:)
Best wishes and happy halloween to the whole Blendernation!!!
will this automatically be added to Blendernation Links? I hope so, because rigth now i don't have time to look into this tut. But this certainly looks very appealing to me :)
happy halloween everyone. time to model some sweet undead chorpses now %)
shukriya thank you
Good job and usefull ressources, I like manga characters :)
The link to the last part of the tut (Day 3) keeps returning 404 errors. I'm pretty sure its no biggie, and it'll be up in a bit, although its still a bit odd that the link to the apparently non existent page has been up for a day or two already.
@cannonical:
what kind of topology problems do you see?
Day 3 is now online.

I was confused by the numbering of the videos in it as 7 and 8 because I knew I had only downloaded 5 videos before. The explanation is that a new video "Video 3: The Hands" has been added to the end of Day 1, as is explained in the comments beneath Day 2.
I have got all the vidoe's , but, Sorry if I seem a bit thick, but I can't seem to find the image for the background. I think its called "resource.jpg"
