I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

  1. ideo to share veefwoar on

i like it! very well done mate. would be good to see a longer 'making of' vid to share your good ideas on workflow.

  2. It's a very interesting use of Blender Nurbs curves! I even suppose they have never been put to such a good use :D Very good atmosphere also.
I found it a little short, looks like a intro for something bigger... but it is very cool ;) Congratulations!

  3. How bout making a tutorial????? Or a detailed video about how you reach those results?? Would be grreat!

Estaría exelente que hicieses un tutorial o un video más detallado sobre como llegaste a ese exelente resultado.
Muy buena la dirección también cumpa, muy logrado todo. Felicitaciones!

  4. Nice animation, very well done, specially employing Nurbs, by the way, please respect Michael Jackson memory!!! :D
Were you inspired by local urban legend?

  5. Absolutely terrifying. But it's an interesting use of Blender. I really like the style of animation and composition. It's like 3d, but not as distracting. Brilliant work over all.

Also the eery story reminds me of the 'Blood Trail' animation. If you haven't seen it, check it out: http://www.nathanlove.com/#/work/4/video/1/
But be warned... it's very gory.

  6. I like it a lot as well! Very nice graphics style and good sound effects!

Reminded me of "The Erl King" ("Der Erlkönig") somehow ...

  7. Nicely done!

Also very artistic, good use of "story-timing", this was easy to understand and very entertaining (albeit in a sick way) ;)

On a side note, I really like the fact that everyday people everywhere on the planet has easy access to
opensource software that now are becoming very usable - that can take you from production start to finish product.

(requires HEAPS of stamina and artistic craftmanship) but still.. ;)

    NICE WORK!

  8. Wow thanks a lot!, this short i made for a contest, here in Chile, the history is about a populary myth of a widow in a island of south in Chile, called "Chiloe"... this is the page of the contest.

  9. That is effectively creepy, ay? Great work. Fright-wise, you may have just been usurped by Christmas is Coming to Our Home, but at least it was intentional here. :-D Great job.

  10. I'm often amazed to see in how many ways blender can be used.
This short film is not only impressive by it's visuals and design, it's also entertaining by it's content - excellent work !
