Starting October 9, we scheduled again a Blender workshop in Cultural Center

Casa Orlandai, Barcelona:

  • Each friday from 17.30 to 19.30
  • Total lective hours: 20.
  • Fees: €82.

I must insist, this is a very basic course, so don't expect to learn so much about particles, fluid simulations, nodes or other advanced aspects of Blender. We will work mainly over:

  • 3D basics,
  • Blender interface concepts,
  • basic modeling,
  • and basic lighting/shading/texturing/rendering.

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

  1. Hei Soulder, foreslår at du stiller det samme spørsmålet på http://www.blender3d.no sine forum...dette har vert oppe til diskusjon tidligere, men kanskje tiden for å gjennomføre det begynner å nerme seg.

Hi Souler, I suggest that you ask the same question at the forums at http://www.blender3d.no... courses and conferences has been discussed before but it has never been gone through with for various reasons, maybe now is the time

  2. Isn't Raimon a stange name? Could be mispelled for Ramón, maybe?

Those introductory curses are great. Helps many people who otherwise never have discovered the free power of blender.
    Excuse my englishhh.

  3. so you're clean, bart. ;)
And yup, he's Raimon! New name to my list.
I warned just in case, cause it sounded a bit strange to me!

    Greetings.

  4. @ Bjørn, Jeg har vært litt og kikka på forum men så ganske død ut. Skal prøv igjen litt senere.

I was thinking on organising one, but in the town I live there are like ?<2 people that have 3D at all. Excluding me.

But then again, can try and put up some posters and all.

  5. Hi,

I'm Raimon, and indeed this is the name which I'm used to be called :-). Raimon and Ramon (Ramon translates from Catalan to Spanish as Ramón, while Raimon translates as Raimundo) are almost the same name, and I think in english translates to Raymond. While Ramon is more usual, some people choices Raimon in the naming of his son. Our "patron" is Raimon de Penyafort, who accompanied Jaume I to Mallorca to help the King in spiritual affairs and ensure proper muslim evangelisation. Issues of the middle age, it's not my fault ;-).

Legend says that Raimon de Penyafort crossed the sea and came to Mallorca with a table of wood and a piece of fabric only, so people says that he's the pioneer of windsurf. XD

Its meaning is something like "protective advice". Of course this is not blender related, just for explanation and a funny touch.

And for the blender related part, indeed I'm very happy with my teaching experience in those courses. I have to say that although I'm using blender since 5 years ago, I'm not able to teach much more advanced courses at the moment, even while things that I do for my own would be more advanced than my workshops. In the other hand, is so difficult to go ahead with those workshops, because usually a good diffusion strategy is lacking in behind, so I have only my own diffusion channels to reach the minimum students threshold. And last but not least, because free software is still seen as the poor brother in the digital creation field. People here in Catalunya isn't really innovative and don't take risks.

    Only some thoughts...
    Raimon
