Yafaray 0.1.1 Documentation Completed

4

blendmatcomboThe Yafaray community have completed the 0.1.1 documentation. This is not really news (they published it last July), but I want to mention it here for reference.

The user documentation for the Yafaray renderer has been completed. It contains a ton of useful detail for rendering out many types of images and systemically explains every one of Yafarays features and how to access them from blender. It is written very clearly and contains some of the most understandable explanations of various Global Illumination methods i have ever seen.

Because documentation for open source projects is always a problem I am very glad that it is of such high quality and as a new Yafaray user I think it is useful for everyone to read.

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

  1. Cool, thanks for letting us know, Bart! At a first glance, it looks very good, with great detailed images and explanations. I'm sure this resource will be useful.

  2. Having worked with both Luxrenderer and Yafaray I found this detailed documentation extremely helpful for learning and speeding up the finetuning. Thanks and well done!
