wish to be there! ))
Weeeee:)
i 'd love to go there too....
unfortunately beautiful Kansas must be like 2000 miles away from where I live.
Anyway Jonathan Willliamson is a dedicated blender head with awesome skills, passion and a huge heart for the community!
I encourage the whole Kansas community to go check it out,
would be nice if we would get to see a video of his presentation:)

What?! That makes it sound like Blender is Mac only. What about all the other OS's that Blender runs on?
Dude relax, it's an *Apple* store. What did you expect? Look on the bright side :)
Hey while he's there, he should go ahead and come on over to Wichita or Hutchinson. Kansas City is about 4 hours away and I doubt that I'd be able to make it :(.
Don't worry, guys, jonathan is for sale at mavenseed.com, and he's 30% off this month only :) And, no, I'm not his agent. And also not Wes' agent. Just a recent mavenseed fan!! Btw, I'm gonna have some more in just 2.5 hours. That's how I get dilemmas solved that I've been cracking my nads open since months... Even 1 day in the Mac store couldn't do that for you :)
@Fozzy
I may actually be in Hutch or Wichita soon if you're interested in a blender session. I have a friend in Wichita and my art is displaying at the Metropolitan coffee shop in Hutch right now.
Wow that's cool. I'll have to swing by the Metro some time and see it.

Ya whatever, and mint is a leafy topping for pork.
Blender is for personal computers, Mac just happens to be one of those... and from what I hear it works like this MAC<Windows<Linux so if you want the best PC for Blender get a Linux Box, if you want to use blender and do other computing as well use windows... and if you like to spend a ton of cash for no reason at all get a Mac.
I'm a PC and I am a digital Artist. I also use Linux for big renders.
I first discovered Blender browsing 3D software on Apple.com, and I'm not sure I would have found out about it any other way. Hooking Mac users and potential Mac users at an Apple store sounds like a great idea!
He could make it to Wichita or Hutchinson, but they are in Kansas, and Kansas City is in Missouri. Kansas is only one state to the left, but still.....
@Bobster, I actually live on the Kansas side of Kansas City (technically Lenexa) and am actually from the Hutchinson area originally :)
Jonathan:
I would be very interested in seeing any Architectural visualizations you may have done with blender, or even how blender could be used in conjunction with sketchup to create them. Your background seems to be more character modeling but that will be fun too. See you at the demo.
@Larry,
I have done very little architectural work with Blender but I can certainly touch on that. There should be time for some good Q&A as well so it could always be covered then.
"Blender is an open source, fully integrated 3D content creation suite for the Mac."
Completely misleading by way of being less than complete.
Ha, I'm in Saint Joseph. I'll be there. And to think, I've been following the tutorials online of a guy that's 52 miles away.
@ Iconodast
I can't believe it, another blender user in Saint Joseph. I don't suppose your using it for Arch Vis are you?
I would not have guessed there would be this many blenderheads in the KC area (at least not that watch blendernation), how interested would you all be in organizing a users group?
No, sorry Larry, but it's awesome to know there's more blender users around here. I know people that work for just about everyone of your current and previous clients. That's pretty impressive. My lady works at Heartland. Now I'm about to go see if I can figure out sketch-up well enough just so I can have something to talk about.
Jonathan- I'm so in favor of a KC user group I just added you in facebook. I know there was another guy, Mike Something, that did some classes around here a long time back, I should see if he's still into blender.
I am so excited about this event ! 10 minute trip from Overland Park for me :)
@Iconoclast
I'm the Mike you're talking about. Actually I moved across the state to St. Louis, but hearing about this I wish I was going to be there then to meet up with Jonathan. Hope you guys all have fun. I'll see if I can't cook up something here in St. Louis sometime.
cheers!
Mike Smick
Good to see you again Mike! Best "how I met my wife" story I've ever read. I also enjoyed the title of spiderman. Sorry to hear you can't join in on the fun. We'll tell you all about it in some gloating and patronizing manner. :)
@ Iconclast
If you need any help with Sketchup let me know, I'd be glad to help or just have someone else around these parts to talk to about it. Right now it's the only thing we use for our Arch Vis stuff. I'm looking to blender to take it to the next level. Not quite sure about that learning curve though.
@ Jonathan
A user group sounds great
I would love to go to this but I have to work. Damn!
@icondast and larry
I too am from Joe Town.
No KC user group, we're going to end up with a cowtown group. Are you Green PFX?
Do you have to be a Mac user to go to this? And... Is there an age limit (I am 15)? But, hey, it's only 30 min away from LS!
@Icono: Actually, Cowtown is already used by a KC post-season tournament of FRC (FIRST [For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology] Robotics Competition) at Cerner. So maybe it wouldn't be a bad name.
@playbass06,
No you don't have to be a Mac user and there's no age limit. I will mostly be giving a demonstartion and answering questions, there won't be a lab to use or anything.
@Jonathan: Okay, thanks for the info. Hope I can make it...
