Bart Veldhuizen
I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

Hear, hear!! Well said! Blender is all of our "in-house software." Congrats!!
Maybe they should hire Andy as suit advisor.
Is there any other open source honor in this event?
A hearty congratulations to our great friend Ton, from the Aussie girls, Cathy & India! Well done!
Congrats to Ton. He really deserves it. I'm sure that the all community is happy for him.

Te he....
Way to go Ton! :D You deserve it, and many other honorary degrees.

Ton, you talk the talk AND walk the walk.
Respect is due, nice one.
Ton:
Many people WANT to read what you wanna say. You should write many pages.
Very inspiring words, thanks!
Very nice words Dr. Ton.
I'm wondering whether there is a reason why he wears such a colourful dress.
excellent stuff.
love to see a bit of respect had.
Long time in the coming.
I think we have to refrain a little bit on the "Dr." title thing. I know the Dutch well enough to say that they think that titles are wayyyy old school. But hey, he does a really cool Dr. House impression LOL.
Congratulations Ton. Thank you again for your generosity. Blender really speaks for itself. It doesn't need a multi million euro marketing campaign for it to get noticed.
Congratulations Ton!
A much-deserved award for all devotion to the amazing project that is Blender, and an excellent job of "reprezenting" Open Source!
And if you wear that awesome hat to SIGGRAPH, watch out; I just may try to steal it! :) I look forward to seeing you in New Orleans!
I really am a big fan of Ton's philosophy. congratulations, Ton. ^_^
