User meetings are starting to show up everywhere on the globe. Have you thought about starting one yet?

The New York City Blender User's Group is holding a meeting at NYU Polytechnic University, Brooklyn, on Saturday June 27th at 2 pm in Roger's Hall. (Just go there and look for the signs for which room)
The format of the meeting will be 1 hour of short presentations for anyone who is interested in speaking, followed by an informal work meeting/study hall.
I plan to give a short update on the work I've been doing on the Blender Game Engine and Pure Data in support of free improv art/music. See my website for more information.
Hope to see you there!

NOOO, i come to NY every weekend but i got duty on the 27th, wish i could attend thou
I am brand new to blender and 3d computer art in general. I bought blender for dummies and it has been helpful but i am more of a face to face learner not text books. Would this meeting be helpful for a newbie or would it just leave me dazed and confused?
About Blender User Groups.
Is there any website or forum dedicated to Blender User Groups Time and Places.
I'm in the San Antonio TX USA Area and would really like to find a Group of Blender Users.
Well, there's http://www.blenderusergroups.com. Doesn't look like anybody is using right now though.
Can we get a meeting in Chicago?
We have our cheblender!! here in argentina a few weeks ago and it was great, good luck with this one!!
Congratulations Nick, I am sure you will have a great group. We are averaging about 7 or 8 people at our Tri Cities Blender Users Group in NE Tennessee. The group has people who are accomplished programmer, artists and complete beginners. Everyone is helpful to each other, sharing what they know. It is always great fun to get together and see what everyone is doing in Blender and seeing the demos. It had been a dream of mine for years to get together with other Blender users. I hope that those of you without a Blender Users Group in your area will consider starting one.
@Darrin, thanks for mentioning the http://www.blenderusergroups.com . site. I didn't know about it before. Next meeting I will bring it up to the group.
